Observing Sweden - Metric

 

I’ve had more than one problem

with Swedish electric

but none are so constant

as dealing with metric.

 

There’s meters and liters

and Celsius degrees

I’ve learned that it’s zero

when things start to freeze.

 

the voltage here’s different

it’s set at 220

when hooked to 110

the result is not funny.

 

My monitors know

and accept either kind

one computer that couldn’t

the junkyard will find.

 

another thing new

that does not make me smile

is ten kilometers

make one Swedish mile.

 

There’s so much to learn

and so little time

I shouldn’t be wasting it

writing this rhyme.
