One of
my dad is I haven’t seen in years. It’s dated 1929 – Aruba, an island in the
Lesser Antilles in the Southern Caribbean Sea off the coast of Venezuela.
Standard
Oil was building a refinery there. Dad was a welder and had signed on for a
year. Good money to be made . . . a long way from home.

Dad came home loaded
and paid cash for a brand new fire-engine-red convertible.
Too bad he didn’t buy some land when he was there.
Bruce, what wonderful memories! I have never been to Aruba but my middle daughter dated a young man from there when she was in college. She made the trip and absolutely loved it! Very, very different from America per Niki:>)
